My fave pregnancy podcasts & a pool side workout

Pool & pregnancy podcasts-- what a perfect way to spend a Wednesday! Or bump day, as it has become in this gestational time.

Today was full of downtime and relaxation and cheeseburgers, thanks to my sweet hubby being game for indulging in my craving.

My appetite has been a roller coaster lately, mostly because this belly just feels so full all the time that, for comfort's sake, I haven't been able to eat very much. It seems to take a long time to get hungry between meals, and usually I don't even feel hungry-- just heartburn that clues me in to my tummy being empty! 80% of my consumption has been proteins and fiber and veggies-- so I don't feel guilty about the occasional "treat" that we preggos love to have!

In the pool, I went ahead and knocked out 3 sets of 15 fire hydrants on each side followed by 1 minute of glute squeezes/flutter kicks while listening to Preggie Pal's podcast about the delivery room. If you're pregnant or even thinking about becoming pregnant, I'd highly recommend you check out New Mommy Media podcasts and The Pregnancy Podcast. Both of those have helped me feel super informed and like the captain of my pregnancy ship, as opposed to just going with whatever the doctor says. Maybe it's the control freak in me, but I think it's very important for every woman to feel like she knows what to expect and what power she holds in the decisions regarding the birth of her baby.

Once out of the pool, I grabbed my 5 & 8 lb weights and did a few supersets.

3x10 concentration curls

3x10 single arm shoulder press

3x10 single arm lateral raises

3x10 overhead tricep press

3x10 single arm front raises

3x10 single arm upright rows

I'll be topping all that off with some lower back stretches, glute bridges, and sumo squats before I hop into bed for the umpteenth restless night of bathroom breaks
